About Ethan:
 

Ethan Hoffman is a lighting designer and assistant lighting designer and a recent alumni of the University of Michigan, where he earned a BFA in Theatre Design & Production with a concentration in lighting design. He has designed and contributed to a range of theatrical productions—from musicals to dance and drama—using technical precision and creative collaboration to support storytelling through light. His work includes both lead design and assistant roles, working closely with directors, designers, and production teams to create thoughtful visual environments on stage.

In addition to design and assisting, Ethan works extensively as a theatrical electrician, with hands-on experience in power distribution, data and networking, fixture installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. This production experience informs his design process and allows him to collaborate closely with crews, programmers, and production staff, bridging artistic intent with practical execution.
